Yamaha TMAX Review
After stepping into the market of Maxi Scooters in 2001, Yamaha, recently has come up with a facelift version of the TMAX. This machine is manufactured with the aim to target aggressive riders who require power and handling. The TMAX is ready to go for high-speed long trip challenges with the spohisticated and dynamic design. The latest generation TMAX is equipped with the latest technology and modern styling.
The design of TMAX is very much inspired from the maxi-scooter design, which is in the market from last 14 years. The updated version is occupied with the latest technology of the brand with smart road appearance.
The strong and appeling appearance of this maxi scooter makes it stand out of the crowd. From the front, it has a large front panel and the visor along with widely angled rear view mirror that helps it to appear a little more aerodynamic. The front light and the side indicator of the bike replicates “devil eyes”, which really looks awesome when the lights are on.
From the side portion, it looks very bulky due to the well-crafted side fenders and the bold looking exhaust. There is also ample space to put the feet in, which is rarely seen in other vehicles. Sporty meter is fitted above the stylish handle, which has two analog and small LCD in the centre between them, including speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, current gear, total distance travelled, high beam indicator and some other technical points. The overall dimension of bike measures 2,200 mm X 775 mm X 1,475 mm (L X W X H) and minimal ground clearance of 125 mm.
Engine, Economy & Performance
Produces 45.86 horsepower, the updated version of TMAX carries a 530cc, forward-inclined parallel two cylinder, liquid-cooled, four strokes, DOHC, four-valve engine. The power mill is able enough to attain the top speed of 160 kmph, and does not require much time to get from naught to 100 kmph which is quite good as compared to the scooter. The powertrain is matched with CVT gear box, which provide a smooth feel to the rider.
In order to offer a nice handling the new generation scooter is bit light in weight as compared to the older version. Telescopic front forks suspension is fitted at the front and swingarm is fitted at the rear profile resulting in offering excellent handling.
To provide the nice grip to the rider, it has a tyre size of 120/70-15 at the front and 160/60-15 at the rear, which improves the grip of the scooter over different roads.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous
For efficient braking, new TMAX includes a 267 mm hydraulic dual disc brake in front and 282 mm hydraulic disc in the rear profile. Overall braking of the TMAX is capable enough to enhance the confidence of the rider to ride the bike on high speed, and work in an efficious manner at the time of harsh and sudden braking.
The TMAX is the flagship model of the Yamaha in maxi scooter segment and it is highly practical and durable because of the overall features it is adorned with.
