Honda Scoopy eSP Review
The new Honda Scoopy is a scooter that was launched by the PT Astra Honda Motors (AHM) in 2010. The scooter employs the new injection technology PGMFI and displays a classic and impressive styling with many advanced features. The scooter matic has been well-accepted by the Indonesian people and 498,260 units were sold within a year. The Honda Scoopy in 2012 controlled 68% of the market share in the scooter segment. The company wholeheartedly provides customers a choice between the Stylish and Sporty variants. Where the Sporty variant comes with 2 colours namely – Metro Cosmo Black and Cream while the stylish variants comes in 3 colour options, namely – Fancy Black, Chic Cream and Vogue Red.

The two-wheeler is a scooter that was launched by the PT Astra Honda Motor on 20th May 2010 in the Indonesian markets. The scooter is given a unique classic styling and is equipped with some advanced features, which makes its charm all the more irresistible.
The scooter flaunts a unique and classic styling that appeals the youth. It also features some advanced features like an exclusively styled headlights and side indicators at the front. The other convenience adding features are a versatile luggage rack, the luggage space below the seats and the wide foot rest design. The scooter enjoys a long and comfortable seat that features an upright sitting position. The dimensions of the scooter read – 1856 mm x 694 mm x 1060 mm. With this the scooter has a wheelbase of 1256 mm and a light weight body construction of 96 kg.
Engine, Economy and Performance:
The new Honda Scoopy is poured-in life by a 110 cc 4-stroke SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) engine with air cooling that is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 8.7 PS at 7500 rpm coupled to a torque of 9.1 Nm at 6000 rpm. This engine mates a V-Matic automatic transmission that promises butter smooth gear transitions and smooth power transfer to the wheels. The scooter with this features a high fuel economy of 56 km/h, which is 26% higher than its previous generation.
The new Honda Scoopy has been designed perfectly to feature a regular weight distribution and a lower and more centre oriented centre of gravity unlike the other vehicles lying in the segment. The vehicle here owing to its well-developed design structure, with a lower height and wide foot rests features desirable handling characteristics. Honda Scoopy being a scooter matic has less efficient cornering capabilities as compared to a bike but the precise weight distribution with a comfortable seating position allows the rider to cut through the traffic with ease.
Safety, Braking and miscellaneous:
The body of the scooter matic is supported upon a dependable suspension system consisting of front Telescopic type suspension and the rear suspension consisting of Swing arm with single shock absorber. With this, the new Honda Scoopy has an efficient braking system that consists of hydraulic disc brakes with single piston in the front while drum brakes at the rear wheels.
