Triumph Thunderbird Storm Review
Triumph Thunderbird is the latest generation pure cruiser bike that come fitted with latest technology features and high capacity refined engine. The designers have word hard to craft this bike beautifully and to make this machine comfortable. As safety is the major issue, so by keeping this in mind the brand has fitted this bike highly capable braking system along with new technology safety system.
In terms of designing, the front profile of the bike is fitted with round twin headlights and the side indicator is attached to its side. The bulky fuel tank provides the mature look to the bike and holds easy to read instrumental cluster. The instrumental cluster consists onboard computer, time clock, trip meter, fuel meter and the speedometer. The pillion seat of the Thunderbird is detachable, which is also well cushioned and offers a high level of comfort. The rear profile is groomed up by the fat rear tyre, which is covered by the small fender that houses the smart tail light and side indicator. This hardcore cruiser dimension measures 2340 mm X 880 mm X 1120 mm (L X W X H) and has a wheelbase of 1615 mm.
Engine, Economy & Performance:
Triumph Thunderbird comes fitted with a 1699cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, parallel-twin, 270-degree firing interval engine. This motor is mated to a six-speed helical type transmission system with a wet, multi-plate type clutch that provide quick gear shifts. This powertrain generates 96.7 hp of maximum power ar 5200 rpm and 156 Nm of peak torque at 2950 rpm. To enhance the power, the bike is equipped with fuel injection system that generates instant and constant throttle response. This engine is capable of hitting the top speed of 200 kmph and provides the fuel economy of 16 kmpl.
The bike is fitted with a tubeless tyre of size 120/70R – 19 at the front and 200/50R – 17 at the rear that offers dynamic handling to the rider. This bike is crafted by using tabular steel, twin spine frame that make easy to control this bike. For potent handling, it comes fitted with Showa 47 mm Forks at the front and Showa Chromed Spring Twin shock at the rear.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:
For efficient braking, the bike is offered with dual disc brake at the front and single disc brake at the rear. The ABS (Antilock Braking System) further enhance the stopping power of the bike and keep this machine under control even at high speed. The instrumental console has a computer chip that keeps updating the rider about the conditions.
