Kawasaki's dual purpose bike – KLX 150 has received rave response by Indonesian bike lovers, since its launch. This dirtbike/trailbike is inspired by Kawasaki's many time motocross champion – KX450F. The KLX 150 bike was produced to solve the dual purpose of – off-roading and daily city use. The new KLX 150 offers much more than its predecessor. Going beyond just stylish good looks – it is lightweight, easy to handle and packs enough juice to make riding through the congested city traffic or the rugged mountain trails a joy beyond words. Powered by a 4-stroke single cylinder air-cooled engine, featuring the proprietary Kawasaki Secondary Air Injection System (KSAI), the KLX 150 suits all your excursions.
The dual purpose off-roader by Kawasaki sports a new aggressive sharp styling, that is more advanced than the premium KX motocross race bikes. The racing image of KLX150 is inspired by Kawasaki’s motocross champion – KX450F. Simple and clean radiator shrouds and a two-tone seat contributes to its racy looks. The KLX 150 made on a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, inspired by motocross race champion bike, this frame offers both a superb handling and a stylish look. To give it a more aggressive look, the bike is integrated with a new meter visor and a sharp new headlamp bulb. The bike is equipped with a clean and simple analogue instrument console with easy-to-read speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, digital clock and warning lights. Complementing its sharp off-roader looks, the bike is integrated with a bold 19” wheels.
Engine, Economy & Performance
The racing inspired KLX150 has been integrated with race-winning technology. It draws power from a progressive 144cc Air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder engine. Mated with a smooth five-speed transmission, the engine has the propensity to generate a maximum power of 12PS made at 8000 rpm with an utmost torque value of 11.3 Nm made at 6500 rpm. The simple, air-cooled single-cylinder engine offers an easy-to-use and highly reliable power plant. Longer gearing results in engine performance focused in the mid-high range, offering a sportier engine character. The response is quick, and once in the high-rpm range, the engine continues to pull strongly. Electric start ensures starting is as easy as a quick push of the button.
Bike's superb handling has always been Kawasaki's key stress point. To ensure, utmost comfort, excellent ergonomics and rider's confidence, Kawasaki install it bikes with cutting-edge technology, that ensure a best in class handling. In KLX 150 also, Kawasaki's meticulous attention to detail, is exhibited. The bike is based on a highly rigid and compact perimeter frame made of high-tensile steel, which bestow it its lightweight and slim chassis, offering exceptional handling and easy maneuverability, on both trail and the city. The bike is blessed with large-diameter wheels measuring 19” and 16” for the front and rear, which delivers superb off-road riding potential. Furthermore, Kawasaki has added a low seat height, which offers a comfortable riding position and low-effort controls; resulting in a bike that is easy to manage for beginners as it is satisfying for experienced riders.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous
Being an off-roader, that blaze out a fierce power, top-notch safety became a mandate for KLX 150. Therefore, Kawasaki equipped the bike with leading safety measures that complement its all-terrain image. Inspired by the KX motocross breed, the KLX 150 is equipped 240 mm single petal disc twin-piston at the front and 190mm single petal disc single-piston for impressive braking power and excellent braking feel. The disc brakes gripped by a twin-piston caliper offers strong, easy-to-control braking. To be a true racing pedigree, Kawasaki has equipped the bike with race-proven suspension package. The bike gets a 33 mm telescopic fork suspension in the front and Uni-Trak, with 5-way adjustable preload suspension in the rear. The new suspension provides superb road hold ability and bumps absorption.
The new KLX 150 delivers a genuine off-road performance, with its generous proportions and large diameter wheels. The lightweight, slim chassis makes it track friendly and also apt for city use. The bike is good for beginners who wish to encounter the trail, but in a mild way.
