Honda Vario 125 ESP Review
Honda Vario was launched in Indonesia with a tag line “Ride The Perfection”, and the same is reflected through its performance, comfort, and styling. It is in the market from a while and the Japanese manufacturers revealed its new model in 2015 with the variety of features. New Vario has unique body language that provides it a road presence that is enjoyed by a very few scooters in the market. Owing to its unprecedented styling, the Vario is squarely aimed at attracting younger customers to climb the Honda bandwagon.
The distinct design of Vario 125 includes sharp cutting LED headlamps, impressive Y-spoke alloy wheels, and futuristic tech meter mounted over the handle. Its exhaust is in flow with body language which looks smart, and a sharp cutting edge of the scooter gives it an aerodynamic shape. The overall dimensions of the scooter measure 1921 mm X 683 X 1096 mm (L X W X H) and the wheelbase measures 1280 mm. The new model consists of bright color combination and newly designed stickers which further help to enhance the appearance of the scooter in a significant manner.
Engine, Economy & Performance:
Talking about its pacemaker, it is equipped with a 125 cc engine with air cooling and the liquid system. The maximum power delivered by the engine measures 8.3 kW at 8500 rpm and the peak torque measures 10.8 Nm at 5500 rpm. The potent engine helps in taking the scooter to different terrains in an efficient manner. Due to its aerodynamic design and light body weight it can easily clock the 60 kmph mark in a fair time span of 8-9 seconds and can achieve the top speed of 96 kmph. Since the engineers are working consistently on the fuel economy, it delivers a mileage of 59.9 kmpl, which is quite impressive in the segment.
It provides a tremendous and smooth ride to the occupants. The suspension work properly on different type of surfaces and braking is efficient enough to reduce the halt time. The brand fitted telescopic fork suspension at the front side and swing arm with shock breaker at the rear of the scooter. To enhance the grip of the vehicle, the Japanese manufacturer added front tire of size 80/90 14 M / C 40P and 90/90 14 M / C 46P at the rear side. Lower seat height, wide footwell area, and well-spaced handlebars result in optimum driving posture with ease.
Safety, Braking, and Miscellaneous:
According to its power the brand offers decent braking system to control the scooter at high speed. At the front, it involves hydraulic disc with single piston and drum brakes at the rear portion. The scooter remains well planted even at the time of emergency braking conditions.
In the rising two-wheeler market, Honda is contributing in a significant manner and holds a decent market share. The Vario 125 is a good choice for the ones who wish to have a hassle free ride in the hectic traffic of city roads. Competing against Yamaha Xeon RC the potent engine and smooth handling of the scooter gives Vario 125 a slightly higher position in the points table.
