BMW S 1000 RR Review
BMW S1000RR is an extremely powerful smart looking motorcycle. It is a perfect amalgamation of a high performance engine, styling and safety, which makes this bike lightning fast. S1000RR is occupied with a 999cc engine, which generates 195.2 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The bike is fitted with many safety features that enhance the confidence of the rider.
BMW Motorrad has many important products under its umbrella. However, when it comes to the most cult offering from this German manufacturer's stable, the S1000RR manages to take the cake, thanks to the hard-core race oriented suspension setup, a full-faced architecture, and an extremely potent engine.
The bike has sporty design by which it is capable of making a strong position in the superbike segment all around the world. The front portion of the bike is crafted with a twin headlights section that emits a bright light making high visibility at night. It comes with a well-shaped fuel tank that looks tremendous and gives an excellent riding position to the rider. Coming over its rear portion, the bike purely looks sporty and elegant due to full LED tail lamp body flow exhaust. Its overall body measures 2050 mm in length, 826 mm in width, 1140 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1438 mm, which ensures brilliant handling on different surfaces. Besides this, it also has a decent ground clearance that keep the bike under control around the corners.
Engine, Economy & Performance:
BMW S1000RR is fitted with a 999cc, water/oil cooled, 4-stroke, in-line four-cylinder engine, which is matched to a 6-speed constant mesh transmission system along with wet multiplate clutch assembly. The powertrain develops a maximum power of 195.2 bhp at 13500 rpm and maximum torque of 113 Nm at 10500 rpm. Despite this, it also occupied with an electronic fuel injection system that enhances throttle response with continuous power flow. This highly refined liquid-cooled powertrain has a compression ratio of 13.0:1 and a bore x stroke ratio of 80 mm x 49.7 mm. All these superb configurations make this bike capable of getting from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.10 seconds and can hit the top speed of 299 kmph.
For balanced handling this machine is fitted with tyre size 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/55 ZR17 rear, both are tubeless tyres, which are wrapped around black lightweight aluminum alloy wheels. The combination of immense power and a lightweight construction has resulted in an optimum power to weight ratio, thus enhancing the bike's performance and handling. Its seat and handle are in the appropriate position that offers perfect superbike posture.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous:
For efficient braking, the brand has fitted it with a dual 320 mm disc brakes with four piston calliper at the front portion and 220 mm single disc brakes with a single-piston calliper at the rear. There is also a feature to switch on or off the anti-lock braking system that depends on the riders requirement. All over the braking configuration works magnificently so that the rider can run of high speed with full confidence.
The BMW HP4 is a house of latest technology and highly refined engine that makes this bike deserving enough to be counted in the category of superbikes. This bike has monstrous power, but its fuel economy is also too low.
