Viar Cross X 150 Review
The Cross X models from Viar is gaining popularity with its aggressive styling and performance factors. The latest version of Cross X 150 features a new design of body panels, stronger suspension and improvised fuel efficiency. Disc brakes for both front and rear wheels and wider handlebar and electric start is featured as a standard for this model.
The V-Cross X 150 is designed based on principles of a dirt bike which can be used as a commuter as well. The dimensions include 1980mm X880mm X 1305mm (Length X Width X Height) spread over the wheelbase of 1285mm. The saddle height 810mm and the wide handlebar with broad hand grip offer ideal posture for the rider. The ground clearance of 175mm makes it easy to take on any given road conditions and the tough engine guard protect the engine from the dirt and stones while riding on rough roads. The single seat design accommodates pillion passenger as well, however, it is best suited for the youngsters as compared to conventional family usage bikes.
Engine, economy and performance
It features four-stroke single cylinder air cooled 150cc engine delivering the power of 10hp at 7500rpm and torque of 9.8Nm at 7000rpm.The engine is mated to the five-speed gearbox with one down and four up gear change pattern. Hydraulic multi-plate clutch is used for disengaging the gearbox and hand lever on right side handlebar serves the purpose of the clutch operation. The final drive connected to chain link offer reliable performance in all road conditions. The efficient 150cc engine can propel the bike to reach a maximum speed of 110kmph in straight ahead road conditions and one can expect mileage in the range of 50kmpl on average.
The uniqueness of this bike with the blending of features of a dirt track bike and performance of a normal usage, provide a perfect platform for the enthusiastic riders to use it for racing as well as for daily commuting. The strong buttons on the tyre give excellent road grip on muddy and slippery road conditions and very reliable on smooth roads as well. Viar has used tyres with rating 70/100 R19 for the front and 90/100 R16 for the rear fitted on to the stylish alloy wheels. The smooth responsive engine and the superior quality of body dynamics enable for easier steering over congested and uneven roads with unplanned road humps and unexpected hollows.
Safety, Brake and miscellaneous
This bike is fitted with hydraulically operated disc brakes at both front and rear wheels offering easy and effective braking and provide excellent control for riding over any conditions of the road. The suspension system uses telescopic shock absorber on the fork at the front and mono shock with unitrack system on the rear wheels providing effective protection from road shocks on varying road conditions and prevents the shocks to be transmitted to rider and pillion passenger while riding on off-road conditions.
