Regal Raptor Bobber Review
The two-wheeler segment is witnessing tough competition among the manufacturers in introducing latest design version of motorcycles. Regal Raptor so far introduced a limited number of models like DD250E 9B Luxury cruiser, DC250E-10, Daytona DD250E-6C. The Bobber feature single seat design of the motorcycle with a long wheelbase and larger overall dimensions. It competes with all 250cc sports bike from the leading sports bike manufacturer like Moto Guzzi, SYM, Jialing.
This is a bike designed to excel as a classic motorcycle for the customers passionate about riding along for long touring. The seat design itself named as Bobber and is fitted at the middle of the long wheelbase, the footrest for rider provided at the frame on the lower end of the engine giving excellent posture for the rider. The wide handlebar stretched towards the rider giving a perfect hold for the rider and makes it easy for steering the bike. The overall dimensions include 2400mm X 830mm X 1150mm (Length X Width X Height) and wheelbase 1680mm offer great stability for riding over any road conditions.
Engine, Economy and Performance
The Bobber feature twin cylinder four stroke engine with 250cc capacity and deliver the power of 22.78hp at 8000rpm and torque of 22Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is mated to a manual transmission with hydraulic multi-plate clutch and chain drive is used for connecting the power to rear wheel. The superior development of power at lower rpm and leads to faster initial pick up and can reach a speed of the order of 80kmph in the shortest interval of time and if riding on straight ahead roads, it can reach a top speed of 140kmph. In normal usage such as in city riding conditions mileage f 35kmpl and can stretch up to 40kmph on highway riding.
The ride quality of the bike is enhanced with excellent stability of the bike with a firm grip of tyres with rating 80/90R21 at the front and 160/80 R16 at the rear. The significantly lower size of the rear tyre with broader profile gives perfect stability for bike and the larger size front tyre makes it easy to steer over narrow spaces and riding over up-hill tasks with sharp curves. The comparatively lower ground clearance make it a great performer on the highway and can be tiresome in negotiating with road abnormalities where the rider has to completely slow down the vehicle to avoid underbody hits.
Safety, Brakes and Miscellaneous
The main strength of this bike is the superior quality of semi-double cradle type frame stretching from the handlebar to rear wheel onto which the heavy engine and all components connected. The excellent suspension quality assured with a long telescopic shock absorber at the front and swing arm type shock absorber at the rear. The brake system involves disc brakes for both front and rear wheels and the light alloy wheel at the front and spoke wheel at the rear give long lasting performance and reliability.
