Minerva R 150 VX Review
Minerva in Indonesia has introduced different models with varying design styles meeting the expectations of the enthusiastic customers. The 150cc segment being the fastest growing segment has seen tough competition among the manufacturers. The latest launch from Minerva the R 150VX has a lot of trend setting features like aerodynamic and stylish design of the body panels, a high responsive engine with best of fuel economy and stylish and adjustable twin headlight, digital instrument cluster.
The Minerva R 150 VX is designed to perform as a sportive performance bike. The aggressive styling is enhanced with the sleek style of headlight cowl with two adjustable focus headlamps. The handlebar nicely designed to provide accurate posture of the rider. The fuel tank of capacity 12Liters is placed accurately between the handlebar and the rider seat make easy for the rider to position himself for high-speed rides.
The side body panel is not made as broad as that featured in models like GTR 150 and 170, it looks great and leaves a good impression. The dimensions of the body include 1982mm X 675mm X935mm (Length X Width X Height), the kerb weight of 125Kg uniformly distributed over the wheelbase of 1365mm, the ground clearance of 165mm can make it easy to overcome road evenness and unexpected road humps.
Engine, economy and performance
Minerva has used the new latest technology for the 147cc single cylinder four stroke engine delivering power o 13.5hp at 9000rpm and 10.5Nm torque at 9000rpm. Though the maximum power is developed at higher rpm's, the engine responds quickly for acceleration to boost up power from start to over 45kmph mark. The engine is connected to rear wheels through the five-speed gearbox with one down and four up gear shifting pattern deliver a maximum of power and torque developed at the engine. The efficient performance of engine enhanced with advanced fuel supply system and ignition can get the fuel economy of 50kmpl in city and can go up to 55kmpl in highway road conditions.
The sleek styling of the bike is ergonomically designed to give comfortable posture for the rider. The grip on the footrest and the design of fuel tank support the knees and help the rider in maintaining balanced posture during riding at steep curves of city roads and speeding at the highway. Pillion seat is designed to make the passenger seated with a slight bend towards the rider. Thus making may for reducing air resistance during high-speed cruising. The tyres with size 80/90 R17 at the front and 120/70 R17 at the rear fitted on stylish alloy wheels provide accurate grip over wet and slippery road conditions.
Safety brakes and miscellaneous
Minerva R 150 VX has strong body frame and the body panels also made strong to withstand minor impacts. The rider and passenger safety are assured with effective braking with hydraulic disc brakes at front and rear. The telescopic shock absorbers at the front take the frontal varying loads and mono shocks at the rear takes a load of the rider, passenger and the impact loads during riding. The new projector headlights with high discharge light up the roads for better vision during dark and foggy road conditions.
