The Japanese motorcycle tycoon, Kawasaki is world-renowned for crafting superbikes, that excel in every segment. Each of the models from this green factory is destined to break records, from the moment they are penned. Standing true to this, the fastest acceleration production model, is also from this Japanese stable – Ninja ZX-14R. Engine, Economy & Performance
The engine is that part of the bike that distinguishes in two-liter class bikes of Kawasaki. Where the brute Ninja ZX-10R sports a 999cc engine with a massive power output that often go out of hand, the Ninja 1000 is a more tamed beast, with the same power. Ninja 1000 draws its power from a colossal 1,043cc 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, DOHC, 16-valve, Liquid-cooled engine, that can churn out a fiery 140 bhp at 10,000rpm and a maximum torque of 110Nm at 7300rpm. Mated with a super smooth six-speed gearbox, which makes most of the performance at low rpms. Kawasaki engineers have used the second set of ECUcontrolled throttle valves to heighten engine performance and an oval sub-throttle to maximize intake airflow while keeping the engine slim. Owing to this, the bike accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds and hits a top speed of 241kmph. The engine is installed with a cutting-edge rider exhilaration that delivers a dynamic response, a strong mid-range hit and an intoxicating intake howl. This mature and gradual feel of the engine makes Ninja 1000 suitable for fast speed touring purposes.
