Honda Odyssey Review
It is believed that MPVs are designed to provide utility and space over comfort and luxury. But Honda has turned this notion false as the new Odyssey is a perfect amalgamation of comfort along with utility. The bulky structure is carved in a significant manner to give Odyssey a stylish and elegant look. The manufacturer has revamped the car in a manner that it provides a peace of mind with many luxurious features incorporated in it. The Indonesian market in MPV segment has a lot to offer and in the competitive and stringent market Honda's move with Odyssey gives a significant market share to the company.
Engine, mileage & variants
The engine of Odyssey is shared with Honda Accord and the chain driven 2.4 Litre DOHC i-VTEC 16 valve 'Prestige' engine is all set to cater diversified needs of the customers. The continuous variable transmission (CVT) of Odyssey is capable of delivering maximum power of 175 PS at 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 225 Nm at 4000 rpm. One can hit 100 km/h mark from 0 in a time span of 11.5 seconds that is not impressive for a 2.4-litre engine but can be blamed on its bulky dimensions with a top speed measured as 196 km/h. The car delivers a decent fuel economy of 12.5 km/litre despite its big dimensions.
The exteriors of Honda has always been explicit in its different cars and Odyssey reflects the same, as the exterior design it holds are distinct in MPV segment. The headlights besides the grille seems streamlined and are accompanied with daytime running LED. The sliding doors move smoothly and makes way for occupants in tight spots. The centrally located 7-inch LCD display for catering different entertainment needs is compatible with digital gadgets, CD/AM/FM/ , AUX and USB. It also gives the flexibility of hands free telephone and Bluetooth.

The ample space and comfort is accompanied with appropriate safety features to make the occupants travel with a peace of mind. The suspension system consists of McPherson Strut in front and Torsion Beam in rear that gives smooth handling on rough terrains. The ventilated discs in front and drum brakes in rear are further accompanied with Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-Force Distribution System (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA) that gives effective braking system to the car. The other safety features include 6 airbags, Brake Override System, ISOFIX and front and rear parking sensors that further adds to the safety level of the vehicle.
