Yamaha X-Ride Review
In a constantly evolving two-wheeler market, Yamaha has introduced its X-Ride to further improve its market presence. This athletic non-gear scooter was first introduced in 2013 and since then it is considered as one of the sportiest vehicles in the respective segment. The scooter has been manufactured while keeping in mind about the current needs of the customers. The manufacturer introduced its upgraded model in the year 2014 with revamped styling and some changes in the powertrain. The X-Ride is available in three variants, each being competent enough to meet the daily commutation needs of the customers.
Yamaha X-Ride is a highly appreciated vehicle and made a record sale of 10000 unit in the first month of its launch. The new generation of X-Ride has met the expectations of most of the customers and the new X-Ride appears to be more sporty than its previous version. Its body language is inspired from an off-road motorcycle, which enables the scooter to run in extreme conditions with ease. This automatic vehicle is capable of taking on a rocky and rough surface with ease.
This off-road looking moped design concept is quite different in the segment due to its rugged and rough styling. The front profile is the best part of it design, which houses a chunky headlamp in the middle of the front panel. It's speedometer is mounted over the handlebar which is simple yet reflects all the important information. The front mudguard has the sharp cutting edge and is fitted just below the headlamp that lends an aggressive look to the X-Ride. The brand has also added a five spoke black color alloy wheels to enhance the appearance of the vehicle. The overall dimensions of the X-Ride measure 1880 mm X 745 mm X 1085 mm (L X W X H) and it provides a magnificent ground clearance of around 152 mm.

Under the skin, it contains an 113.7cc engine, which is able to exhale 7.75 PS at 8500 rpm and can generate a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 5000 rpm. It can reach the top speed of 95 kmph and can get from naught to 60 kmph in between 10-12 seconds. The mopped employs the YMJET-FI (Fuel Injection System Hallmark Yamaha Product) technology, which gains in the fuel efficiency by displaying a comparable 40 kmpl of fuel economy on rugged terrains and the value stretches from 50-55 kmpl on highways.
For nice handling and gripping, Yamaha has used 14-inch alloy wheels and tire size of 70/90 at the front and 100/70 at the rear. This scooter comes in two variants with different tire manifold boxes, which helps to serve better on rough terrains. The motor includes twin-tube shock type suspensions, which makes this vehicle a little bit higher than the other vehicles of its segment.
Safety, Breaking and Miscellaneous:
For braking, it includes single disc brake at the front and drum brake at the rear side. Yamaha X-Ride is also equipped with a Smart Lock system which gets automatically activated at the time of braking. This technology helps to make persistence control over the vehicle at the time when the brakes are applied at high speed.
This is the perfect off-road non-gear scooter which is high in performance and in terms of styling. It stands out in the crowd perfectly due to its stylish body language and advanced features provided by the manufacturers.
