This 2-door mini car is employed with rear-engine featuring rear-wheel drive mechanism and is currently marketed in 46 countries. Over the years, Fortwo has garnered a tremendous approbation worldwide and its production has exceeded 1.7 million units by early 2015. Its decent power, performance, exceptional mileage, low running costs and an economical price tag makes Fortwo a quintessential mini car.
The new Smart Fortwo is available in two body trims like Coupe and Cabrio which are available with petrol engine and diesel engine options. Fortwo is also available in hybrid version. The maximum power delivered by the 3-cylinder engine is 75 kW at 6000 rpm while the maximum torque clocks at 147 Nm between 2500-3600 rpm. Fortwo is not a vehicle, which you can unleash on a race track but still the car offers a decent acceleration. The top end variant can reach 0-100 km/hr mark in mere 10.2 seconds and can clock a top speed of 145 km/hr which is appreciable. When it comes to mileage, Fortwo doesn't fail to impress. The 0.8 litre turbo diesel can give a mileage of 30.3 kmpl which is quite an exceptional figure.
The exterior of the car may not impress you very much but still the overall aesthetics of the car are commendable. The newly designed Smart Fortwo comprises a more sporting character with its sophisticated structure of grids and extra-wide air intakes. The larger and more prominent smart logo is appointed on the honey-comb radiator grille giving a rather elegant appearance to the car. With its bold and distinctive design, the exterior appeal of this small car does not go unnoticed. The well-finished front end embellished with stylish pair of headlamps accentuates its overall appeal effectively. The car comes with an option to choose between suavely designed alloy wheels of size 15 inch, 16 inch and 17 inch, which further add to the dynamism of the car. This sporty car embraces specific dimensions for all of its variants which measure 2695mm x 1559mm x 1542-1565mm (l x w x h) and the wheelbase stands at 1867 mm.

When one talks about a mini car, you generally don't expect it to be equipped with advanced safety features. Smart Fortwo might be regarded as one of the exceptions. The latest Smart Fortwo comes incorporated with active and passive safety elements, which contribute in protection of the driver and front seat passenger. The active safety elements include Electronic Stability Program, Anti Lock Braking System with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Traction control system for avoiding unfavorable vehicle trajectory. The car has also been equipped with optimally placed airbags, which further adds to the safety. The dynamic braking system appointed in this vehicle includes solid disc brakes for front wheels and drum brakes for the rear.
