Proton Suprima S is a hatchback model designed by Malaysian automobile company Proton in the year 2013. This 5-door vehicle has the design cues influenced from its sister car, Proton Preve Sedan and is released to proliferate the Proton car sales number in the international market. The launch of this car in the Indonesian market was approximately 4 month after its debut. It is one of the strongest competitor in the market against the cars like Mazda 3 and Toyota Corolla, which are again dominant Japanese models.

Engine, mileage & variants

This stylish Proton Suprima S is equipped with CFE 1.6-litre (1561 cc) turbocharged gasoline engine. This motor thresholds an upright power of 140 PS at 5000 rpm along with the peak torque of 205 Nm between 2000 to 4000 rpm. The top speed of the vehicle is 190km/h, the acceleration count is measured as 9.9 seconds breaching the speed mark of 0-100km/h. Proton Suprima S is a 5-door hatchback designed in the sporty layout so as to attract young & teens audience in the market. It has an overall length of 4436mm along with a width of 1786mm, height of 1524mm and a long wheelbase of 2650mm. Its fully designed rear part has got fresh cuts and lines featuring guide lights, rear fog lamp mounted centrally on the rear diffuser and extended boot gate. This vehicle gets newly designed diamond-cut seven spoked, 17-inch wheels that are further covered with 215/45 R17 sized tubeless tyres. Coming to the interior segment, Suprima S delivers comfort seating space to its occupants. Its cabin is packed with versatile options including flat-folding seats, paddle shifter, intelligently placed storage compartments and cup holders. To keep you entertained on long runs, it is bestowed with six-speaker system with 2 tweeters at A-pillar. It plays music through 2-DIN PROTON Infotainment System that has a DVD player, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as well. GPS Navigation is another in-built feature that can guide and take you to the right destination. This vehicle has a boot space of 309-litres that can be expanded to a maximum of 427-litres by folding the rear seats.

Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous

To offer stress-free driving experience, this car is packed with superior braking system featuring ventilated front discs and solid rear disc brakes. Its front axle gets McPherson Strut, while multi-link system with stabilizer bar is fitted at rear. Furthermore, ABS with EBD, hill-hold assist and brake assist (BA) works sideways to increase the efficacy of braking system. Dual front SRS airbags, side airbag, curtain airbag, seatbelt, ISOFIX & top tether mount point acts as passive safety system in the car. Other safety features loaded with this car includes reverse camera, parking sensor, immobilizer, traction control (TC), electronic stability control (ESC) and fog lamps.


Referring the brand 'Proton', Proton Suprima S is a much needed car that excelled the sale numbers and increased the popularity of the automobile company. Decent handling and peppy engine are its competence facts. But, comparing with its rivals, engine takes more fuel consumption. Also, falls short in its cabin styling!
