Introduction

The Lexus automotive was founded in 1989 and served the desires of people across the world with its thrilling productions. The Lexus GS is a performance sedan that competes in the segment of the mid-luxury class and with its earlier four generations it has been able to accumulate love and a positive response from the public. The sedan has also been successful in achieving great awards like the Highest Ranked Vehicle in the luxury class in 2005 by Consumer Reports and the IF Product Design Award in 2007 from the International Forum Design group.

Engine, Mileage, Variants

The expertly engineered powerful engine of the sedan comes with competitive traits and throws back a compelling power when in speed. The robust engine of 2.0-Litre is configured with 4-Cylinder, In-Line, 16-Valve DOHC with Dual VVT-i that gives out an overall power of 242 hp at 5800 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1650-4400 rpm. The sedan comes with 8-speed automatic transmission and touches a maximum acceleration of 100 kmph in mere 7.0 seconds reaching a top speed of 230 kmph. The giant fuel tank of Lexus GS can uphold a capacity of 66-Litre and delivers a fuel economy of 14.03 kmpl, decent enough as expected from this sedan.

Exteriors

The captivating dimensions of the overall body of this sedan is 4880 mm x 1840 mm x 1455 mm (LxWxH) along with a wheelbase of 2850 mm and a decent ground clearance of 130 mm. At the front, the bumper and grille are uniquely designed housing LED headlamps and LED fog lamps on either side of the front grille. At the rear side, there are rear combination lamps completely LED and the rubber tyres give the sedan all-the-more alluring look. The grasping tyres are of the size 235/45 R18 HI-Grade which are supported with 5-spoke alloy wheels of the size R18, adding beauty to its chassis.

Interiors

The 5-seater sedan consists of upgraded upholstery of fine leather on the seats and on the steering wheel while the cabin is further graced by wood accents. While towards the dash an audio system enhances the entertainment front of the cabin with the inclusion of Lexus Premium Audio System with 12-speakers. The presence of a front monitor screen of 8-inches EMV along with the Lexus Navigation System enhances the artistry of the cabin. In addition to these, there is an atmosphere control system on the dash that filters the air and purifies it at the same time.

Safety, Braking, Miscellaneous

The ventilated disc brakes provide maximum safety to the car while there are many other features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that assists the driver to stop or control the car on adverse road conditions. The Hill-Start Assist Control system helps the driver to control the vehicle while ascending or descending hills. The Rigid Body-Structure with Crumple Zones is designed to compress the rate of jerks to the occupants in any collisions and the rain sensing wipers detect moisture or rain drops on the front windscreen and automatically adjust their speed.

The Lexus GS is a safer and better choice for those who have a diversion towards luxury cars with powerful performance. It is finely engineered and offers full-throttle exhilaration with a dynamic connection through its inbuilt technology.
