KIA Optima Review
Introduced as Kia's first mid size sedan, the first generation Optima could not convince the customers much, the way Japanese competitors did in terms of refinement, reliability, comfort and assured resale value. The second generation did not hold any significant change but, the third generation is different entity with sleek styling, plenty of standard features, potent engine choices and substantial value that makes Kia as a top pick for the customers in Indonesia.
Engine, Mileage & Variants
Under the hood there sits a 2.4-litre MPI engine, which is capable enough to give a maximum power output of 180 PS at 6000 rpm and maximum torque of 231 Nm at 6000 rpm. Coupled to engine is the 6–speed automatic transmission with sequential paddle shift and exchange option which adds to the smooth driving experience. When acceleration is concerned the new Optima will reach 0 to 100 kmph mark in a time span of 9.5 seconds and top speed measures 244 kmph. The mileage is not impressive as other competitors offer and one will get a fuel economy of 10.2 km/L.
The importance of exteriors is always high in a segment where Kia is placed and over the years Kia has strive to alter perception of customers for its cars through the bold styling, and sharp features.
