The V-Cross is lightweight scooter with genuine performance engine delivering best of power and fuel economy for usage as a regular commuting vehicle for city and town conditions. It is designed with new styling features with usage of dual tone body panels with glossy paints and clear lens headlamp and tail lamp assembly. Analog meters, electric start, disc brake at front and drum brakes at the rear are used as a standard in these models.
The usage of thinner and stronger sheet metal for the body panels has made it lighter in weight and glossy paint gets it best of public attention. The seat in V cross is made flat and made rider seat is made sleek giving ideal posture for the riders and also the riders can rest both feet on the road when the vehicle is stopped. The dimensional features include 1827mm X 650mm X 1180mm (Length X Width X Height) spread over the wheelbase of 1130mm. The ground clearance of 150mm is a limitation of this scooter demanding complete slow down over a road irregularity.
Engine, economy and performance
Viar V Cross has single cylinder four stroke petrol engine with 125cc capacity and delivering the power of 10hp at 8000rpm and torque of 9.5Nm at 9000rpm the final drive is connected to the rear wheel through V-belt automatic transmission. The maximum fuel efficiency of 50kmpl is reliable in city conditions, the comparatively smaller fuel tank capacity of 4Liters, limits usage to city conditions and well planned long distance travel. In standard road conditions it can reach a speed of 45 to 50kmph, however, the comparatively lesser ground clearance keeps the rider cautious about road speed on irregular road conditions such as unplanned hump or hollow on the spoilt road.
The Viar V Cross is a very good companion for a limited range of usage such as commuting from one part of the city to other. The light in weight features, easy to steer handlebar make it comfortable for riding in high-density traffic conditions. The tyre with rating 70/90 R14 at front and 80/90 R14 at rear made with tough rubber and provides good road grip avoiding skidding over slippery conditions. Still, being a scooter in design, one has to be extra careful while riding on slippery conditions than riding a bike. The pillion rider portion of the seat gives cushioning and the flat design of it makes it very convenient for the old people as a pillion passenger.
Safety, Braking and Miscellaneous
The disc brake at front and drum brake at rear enable for efficient stopping and slowing down of the vehicle and the hand-operated lever for both brakes makes it easier to use. Viar has used telescopic shock absorbers at both front and rear wheels taking road shocks that can occur at the road humps and uneven surfaces. The space between rider and the handlebar can be used for holding smaller luggage and the container space provided beneath seat can be used for storing valuables like a handbag, mobile and others during travel and parking.
The Viar V Cross is a reliable and genuine performance matic motorcycle for short distance destinations. The economical price tag and ease of maintenance make it an ideal selection for regular commuting.
