Gazgas Classic Motor Monkey Review
The Monkey and Gorilla models are synonymous with its name in getting the attention of the crowd and offer great performance too. The shorter wheelbase, shorter height and fuel tank fixed onto the frame combined and the thick profile of the tyres fixed on to the stylish alloy wheels are introduced as standard in this model. Though the design features make it a latest innovative design bike, considering engine capacity, it competes with all 100cc bikes from the leading manufacturers.
This bike is designed as an aggressive styling, superb performer bike for city and highway riding. The comparatively smaller fuel tank capacity of 4.5L is fitted onto the frame and absence of body panels surrounding it gets it immediate attention. The seat is given thick cushioning and the footrest position, handlebar design gives the rider feel of riding a miniature version of the classic bike. The dimensional features 1355mm X 600mm X8600mm (Length X Width X Height) and wheelbase 900mm, kerb weight of 64kg make it a convenient bike for the youngsters.
Engine, economy and performance
This bike features single cylinder four stroke air cooled petrol engine with 107cc delivering the power of 6hp at 7500rpm and 7.2Nm at 4500rpm.The engine mated with 4-speed gearbox and chain drive connected to rear wheels. Gazgas has given the option to choose from gearbox with shifter pattern as one down and three up or with all gears up-shift. A smooth starting is achieved with kick start and electric start as an option, the smooth acceleration can make it reach a speed of around 40kmph in a short interval and maximum speed is limited to 80kmph on normal road conditions. In city usage, one can expect mileage 60kmpl and around 65kmpl in highway riding conditions.
The easy starting and smooth acceleration of the engine get a very good start and easy to operate gear pedal enables for faster shifting of gears and hence the quicker variation of speed and torque. The comparatively smaller ground clearance calls for drastic slowing down of the vehicle at the road humps. Easy to steer handle bar and the fine grip of broad profile tyres fitted onto the R10 size wheels make it easy to balance on sharp and incline curves. The clear lens headlight illuminates the road very well and the headlight focus aimed at giving a better focus for the rider on unexpected road humps and obstacles.
Safety, brake and performance
This bike is designed to be used for the single rider, the smaller dimensions need better balancing of the bike at high-speed riding. This is achieved with broader wheels and stronger and well-designed backbone type chassis frame. Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes assure faster application of brakes in slowing own and stopping of the vehicle. The front suspension uses telescopic shock absorber and the rear with twin swing arm type shock absorber gets perfect cushioning for the rider irrespective of road conditions.
This bike is best suited for the youngsters with zeal for riding alone and make a unique style statement in owning two wheeler. This is best suited for city usage and can also be a fantastic companion for well- planned long rides.
